Divekick is a fighting game developed by One True Game Studios and published by Iron Galaxy Studios. It was originally released digitally in August 2013 for PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. In April 2014, the game received a free update titled Divekick: Addition Edition which introduced various balance changes. In the same year the game was also released digitally for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One under the title Divekick: Addition Edition +.
Gameplay[]
Divekick is a minimalistic fighting game which utilizes only two buttons and no directional inputs. The first button, Dive , makes the character jump in the air, the second button, Kick
, makes the character divekick if airborne. Using the Kick button while grounded makes the character jump back. Hitting the opponent with a divekick causes an instant KO, with the match being over after either player wins five rounds. In case a player hits the opponent in the head the opponent will be temporarily concussed in the next round.
Each character has their own unique Dives and Kicks. Executing Kicks will also fill the character's Kick Meter, which can be spent to execute special moves by pressing and
at once. Filling the meter completely will make the character enter Kick Factor, granting them a passive buff while the mode is active.
Each round lasts 20 seconds. When a round is about to end, a red line appears in the center of the arena. In case of a timeout, the player closest to the red line wins the round.
Characters[]
Divekick features a selection of 15 characters to choose from. After selecting a character, the player can select a Gem which gives the character a passive buff, as well as the character's color scheme.
